Northern Cass Robotics Team (NCRT) is open to learners in grades 7-12. Students must apply to join the team.
In 2022, NCRT will participate in the BEST Robotics Classic competition in the Jackrabbit BEST hub based in Brookings, SD, at South Dakota State University. This year's game is Made 2 Order. The competition includes designing and building a robot that can accomplish specific tasks within a pre-determined course, but the Robotics team is more than that. Team elements include robot design, engineering notebook, marketing display and interview, website, and more.
Notable season dates below. Dates and times are tentative as the season evolves. Please see the schedule page for team meeting times. Accommodations will be made if meeting conditions change due to Covid-19.
The team will meet as a large group and small groups throughout the season including a few Saturdays as we are able. Distancing and masking are recommended whenever possible.

SITE: Safety Integrated Through Engineering
The 2021 team competed in Demo Daze in the Jackrabbit BEST hub in November 2021, taking first in the BEST Award, third in Robot Performance, first in Engineering Notebook, and first in Marketing Presentation.
The team advanced to the Denver Regional Championship. Due to new Colorado Covid restrictions, the championship is being reimagined. Our exhibit/interview and marketing presentation were held virtually prior to Game Day. The robot game was held live in the Volstorff Ballroom on the SDSU campus on December 11.
