In sixth grade Spanish, students will focus on language acquisition using the three modes of communication: Interpersonal, Interpretive, and Presentational mode. Students will increase their knowledge of the target language with new vocabulary learned in context and will begin to learn the present tense. We utilize the standards from the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL).
Unit 1: Identity - greetings and introductions, personal information, describing oneself, activities, school, likes and dislikes
Unit 2: Family & Pets- family members, pets and animals, describing others’ personalities and preferences
Unit 3: Healthy Lifestyles- food preferences, activities, routines, giving health advice
Unit 4: Vacation- weather, clothing, vacation places and activities, transportation, time
