About Mr. Shea

This is now my 16th year teaching at Meadowbrook. Meadowbrook is a great place for students and teachers. My colleagues are so positive and inspirational, it makes for a wonderful learning community. The best part of my day, however, is the students. I try to facilitate an environment where students feel free to critically challenge their own thinking, and in doing so, inspire their peers to do the same. At this point in their development, the students are learning skills that they will carry with them for the rest of their lives.

I grew up in Wilmette and went to New Trier High School. I then went on to attend Earlham College in Richmond, Indiana where I received an undergraduate degree in psychology. After graduating, I went to Northwestern University in Evanston and received a Masters of Education and Social Policy. Shortly after graduating, I was hired at Meadowbrook where I have grown as an educator. More recently, I earned a National Board Teaching Certification and an Educational Specialist degree from National Louis. This is my first year in the role of Math Interventionist at Meadowbrook and I look forward to the opportunity.

My wife, Sarah, and I live in Wilmette and adore our seven-year-old son, Owen. If there is anything else you would like to know about me, my educational beliefs and practices, please let me know.
