Hello! My name is Jason Piechowiak. I am originally from a small town in Ohio called Maumee. It is a great place to raise a family, and I loved growing up there. My mom still lives in Maumee, and I have two younger brothers that still live in Ohio.

I moved to Chicago 16 years ago and I love all that the city has to offer! I enjoy all the sporting events, the restaurants, and everything that there is to do around the city. I also love having some time off in the summer! I did do a lot of carpentry work. This summer, my family enjoyed some travel to Michigan, Minnesota & Ohio. It was super fun! We love to spend long days on the beach. In October, our daughter Avery, will be turning seven, and then a few days later, our son, JP, will be celebrating his fourth birthday. I honestly can’t believe how fast life comes at you, but I feel extremely blessed to have the life I have. This summer we once again made a bucket list, and spent most of the summer doing socially distanced activities. It wasn't our normal bucket list, but we made the best of it. One thing I always look forward to doing to cap off the summer is participating in the fundraising efforts of Pelotonia. It is a non profit organization that raises money toward cutting edge cancer research. Over that last four summers, I have had the opportunity to raise $44,396 toward cancer research. On August 7th, I rode my bike with two of my best friends to complete our 100 mile pledge. Pandemic or not, it once again was an incredible empowering experience, for an incredible cause. #OneGoal #EndCancer #Pelotonia #JohnnyStrong #ChristineStrong #LarryStrong #MPStrong #SusyStrong #FlorenceStrong

Before coming to Northbrook, I graduated from the University of Toledo in 2005 with a Bachelor's degree in Middle Childhood Education. I finished my Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction in December of 2013. In May 2019, I was able to complete my EDT, Master's in Education Technology. I also love to coach, but I am currently on a break from coaching so that I can be home with my family in the evenings. I am the Teacher Tech Leader at NBJH as well. Last year, I was named PepsiCo's Buddy Helpers Teacher of Month. I was blown away by the nomination and the award. I feel so blessed and so excited to be able to be your child's teacher. I love what I do, and not many people can say they go to work and truly enjoy what they do.

It has been amazing having the opportunity to coach and teach here at Northbrook Junior High School for the last 16 years. I am ready for another great school year!
