Eighth Grade English Language Arts

Students will participate in a variety of Common Core-aligned lessons and activities related to speaking and listening, literary analysis, grammar, vocabulary, and argumentative and narrative writing. Centered around complex, high-interest texts, students will think critically in order to analyze ideas and information. Students will build reading and writing stamina by engaging in choice independent reading and explicit grammar and vocabulary instruction is woven throughout each unit.
