COVID-19 Testing on the Weekend

The majority of COVID-19 Testing Providers utilize the same major national laboratories, which only fly specimens to the labs on weekdays. Because of this, Blanco County only offers COVID-19 testing on weekdays, as any specimens collected on the weekend will sit in a refrigerator over the weekend, resulting in delays. Ultimately, this is a good thing, as it allows the laboratories (which work 7 days a week) an opportunity to clear out any backlog. If you register for COVID-19 Testing in Blanco County on the weekend, your registration will be processed and you will be tested on Monday.

If this delay presents a problem for you, there is one COVID-19 Testing Provider which typically performs tests on the weekend which actually drive your test to the lab on the weekend.

Curative normally has a COVID-19 Testing Van available in Dripping Springs on the weekend, which transports your COVID-19 test to their laboratory near Austin. Although this option may not be convenient for everyone, it is an additional option for those individuals who need answers quickly on the weekend!

The average turnaround time for COVID-19 tests performed by Curative is 24-48 hours.
