Beyond the Classroom Days
On Thursday, June 21, 2018 the North Andover School Committee approved Beyond the Classroom Days for the 2018-2019 school year. What does this mean? It means that if we use up the four "built-in" snow days in our school calendar, students will complete an assignment at home in lieu of making up the snow day in June. As you might remember, in 2017-18 our students didn’t finish the school year until June 27th! Beyond the Classroom Days will prevent this from happening again.
So, what happens when school is cancelled?
First Four Days
For the first four snow days, no alternative school work needs to be completed. Instead, students are invited to participate in the Superintendent's Snow Day Challenge!
Fifth Snow Day and Beyond...
If school needs to be cancelled more than a total of four times, students will be assigned work to complete instead of making up the fifth day. These assignments can be found by visiting the Beyond the Classroom Days webpage. Assignments will NOT be due the day students return to school. Instead, students will have at least 1 week to complete the assignment.
