My name is Mrs. Maggie Macher, and I am thrilled to be teaching Grade 4 Science, Social Studies, and Grammar/Writing. Although I am beginning my 15th year as a classroom teacher, this year will be a new adventure for me as this is my first time teaching in a cyber academy.

One of my goals for the 2020-2021 school year is to engage students in activities where students are asked to think critically and formulate questions to explore and understand their world in Science class. During Social Studies, students will explore the vast regions of our country, discuss major historical events that helped shape the United States, and learn all of the states and capitals! Furthermore, I am so excited to teach our 4th graders grammar and writing. My hope is for students to enjoy writing and to grow as young writers through our writing workshops this year!

I am a strong believer in the growth mindset, and I intentionally work to build a classroom climate where students encounter challenges, engage in a productive struggle, and learn through their perseverance. My hope is to create a classroom environment where all students feel valued and all students collaborate in a learning community.
