All students will realize the importance of lifelong physical fitness by engaging in healthful physical activity as a part of their everyday routine.
Physical Education Uniforms

If there is a special circumstance, please speak with Mr. Biedke. If students need to purchase uniforms, the cost is $20.00 or $10.00 for shirt and $10.00 for shorts.
Heart Rate Monitors
Hello Parents & Guardians,
The Wellness Department has purchased the newest and most advanced technology called Polar Heart Rate Monitors to help enhance our program. Recently, your son or daughter may have brought home a heart rate strap. If they haven't yet, they will soon. This is something that we will use often in class as both a teaching tool to understand their heart rate and how hard they need to work to gain health benefits by working out. We have purchased one for every student in the school and you paid for this first one out of your student fees. However, we do want to make you aware that if your son or daughter misplaces them they will have to buy a new one. In making our purchase, we bought in bulk which lowered the price for us. If we need to buy one individually for a student it will cost approximately $35. Please make sure you have a discussion with your child about the importance of not losing them because this is theirs to keep for the duration of their time at Giles. Ridgewood HS also uses this technology so using these monitors would give them a head start in high school. So you also are made aware, when we use these straps and monitors it will be a double point day (6 normally, 12 on heart rate days) to emphasize the importance of wearing them along with getting the knowledge of understanding their heart rates. If you have any questions, please contact the Wellness Department (Mr. Bob Biedke or Mr. Gino Gapastione).
