Students I will be out 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Hour. Please just come in and start working on your projects. There are sheets on the table if you need a physical copy of the information sheets. You also have the digital copy below on my website. If the Mr. Johnson writes your name down it will be a lunch detention. There is a evaluation sheet for each class and the class that scores the highest will have a halloween cup cake sweet treat on halloween. You need to send me the slides when you have finished them. It is ok not to get them finished today, I would rather you take your time and answer the questions fully then rush through. I am soo proud of everything you have done this year, Keep IT UP!

Lets get political. Today we focus on the political map of Europe. You need to try to finish with challenge one and two today. We will continue to do brochure presentations while you work on your maps. On Monday when we come back we will finish our mapping log for Europe.

Don't break yet, we still have Europe to discover. Today we will officially begin our Europe Unit. We will look at the physical features and political features of Europe. You will need to get into pairs for an activity later in the day, so please go ahead and find a partner. Groups of two only, you may also work on your own. But the largest groups can only be groups of two.

Wonderful Wednesday Kiddos, Good Morning. I will not be here the first three hours today. If you have questions feel free to email me and I will try to respond when I can. My email is chousman@norman.k12.ok.us Today you need to be finishing your brochures. Don't worry about the flag if you didn't get to it that is not as important. Double check that you have everything you need on your brochure from the rubric that was posted here on Monday, or on the board. You have to have everything that is on the rubric before you can present. I also have a worksheet when you are finished with your brochure, that will help introduce you to some of the countries that we will be studying. This will need to be completed using your atlas that is under your desk. IT IS NOT IMPORTANT THAT YOU GET TO THE WORKSHEET, TAKE YOUR TIME ON YOUR BROCHURES AND MAKE THEM PERFECT!!!! THE WORKSHEET IS A CLASS COPY< DO NOT WRITE ON THE WORKSHEET>. I have also attached the worksheet here if you get done you can use your macbooks to start working on the worksheet on a separate sheet of paper. Come into class and start working, you should be working on your brochure or the worksheet when the bell rings. I will be here after lunch if you have questions. Kiddos good morning. Today you need to work on your brochure today. You will need to draw your flag on both your brochure and on the card stock from the table. You also need to put all the of the information from your notes into the brochure. Make sure that you are organizing and coloring your brochure to be both stimulating and neat. You should be working on your brochure all hour, if you feel like you are getting close to being done, decorate and color your brochure. Every page should have some form of drawing and each section should be filled with text from the research about your country. There is an additional worksheet that I have left if you finish with your brochure. Your brochures should be very detailed and very specific. Specific places and activities. The substitute will be using a grading sheet for each class. The top two classes will get a Doughnut party. Come in to class quietly sit down and begin working on your brochures. I know you are going to do great today.

Country Brochure Project: If you do not remember the country you picked refer to the sheet on the table by grades. For the brochure project you will need to follow this format. Below is the rubric that you will grade yourself on and I will grade you on. We will present our brochures to the class on Thursday and Friday. You have three full days to complete the brochure in class. Tomorrow you will get a card-stock piece of paper and you will draw your country's flag on the card-stock and color it.

Travel Brochure Project: City or Country

Location: Give at least 2 examples of relative location

Place: Give at least

3 Human Characteristics (Top 5 Language, Top 5 religion, Top 5 ethnic groups)

5 Physical Features (Land forms, buildings, museums, things to see...ect.)

Human Environment Interaction: Give at least 4 examples of outdoor activities. Use Trip Advisor.

Movement: Give at least 4 examples of how people get around (Bus, Metro/subway, train, taxi, walking, ) Use specific names such as (the tube in London)

Region: Give at least 1 region (French Alps, Catalonia Spain.... ect.)

Morning Kiddos, We are going to finish our economics presentation notes today. Have those out and ready to be taking notes. I will give you the first 10 minutes of class while I am taking role to work on anything that you need to be catching up on. By Friday you need to have completed your Government Worksheets including the map. We will have a review for governments, economics, and religions tomorrow, a review game on Thursday and test on Friday. You can be looking over your religion worksheet and your government worksheet to be studying earlier in the week.

Good Kiddos of the geography world, welcome to class. Today we need to finish our governments paper. So in order to do that we are not going to rotate desks today we are just going to rotate the papers. Here is what I want you to do. Sit in your original desks. Then make sure that your first government is completely filled out. If you did not label the countries on your paper you need to do so now. We will rotate the papers pretty quickly after the bell rings to ensure that your second government is finished. Once roll is taken you should be beginning on your third government. This must be completed today, I know you will work hard as you always do. Thank you for being awesome students.

Today we will discuss governments. If you did not finish your governments paper. Take the first 10-15 minutes of class to finish those. We will go over that when class begins. Also if you didnt get a chance to compare your list with someone else's then do that now as well. Compare your list with those at your table group. We will assess the classes list once we begin class. While you are finishing those sheets I will be walking around and giving you your missing assignments. Grades are due today, I can not give you any more time to ketchup on your assignments.

Ketchup Day!!!!!

Everyone should have a little bit to do because we did not finish the religions worksheet on Friday. You can find the prezi over Daoism in our google classroom.

By the end of today you need to have all of the following completed:

Venn Diagram, Religion Worksheet: Front and Back, 5 themes worksheet and 5 themes test.

Once you have finished all of that make sure I see your work so that I can give you a grade for it, Once you have finished all of that you need to create two passport stamps for your notebook. One for religions, and one for the five themes of geography. You must include something about each religion, and something about each theme of geography in your passport stamp design. These are not due until you get a final passport grade at the end of the year.

Test/Quiz day! Students you will have 15 minutes to study for the test. I would look at the questions from yesterday. Also look over your notes about both map terms and about the five themes of geography. After the test is done you will pick your country and write it down on the country signup sheet. You should take the time after you finish your test to look at countries that you think you might be interested in and ensure you are picking a country that you will want to stick with all year. Once you choose your country you will not be able to change it. Only two people will be able to pick the same country in each class. If when you go to sign up two other people have your country you will need to choose a different country.

Students you will need something to write with, your passport binders, and a few blank sheets of paper to take notes on. Have your blank sheets of paper ready with your name/date/hour written in the top left corner when the bell rings. Below is a copy of the google slides that we will be using during class for the next few days. If you miss something please feel free to refer back to it. Also if you have not finished putting together your binder please ensure that you put the tabs in your binders. You need 7 or 8 tabs, if you have more just put those in there.
