Curbside Library Guidelines

Alcott Middle School Library Curbside Pickup for Virtual Students or During Distance Learning

1. Choose Books

   • Students can look for available books in the library catalog.

   • To select titles, go to the library catalog, click on the desired book, and place it on hold using your User/Student ID number and the PIN: 9876.

   • Not sure what books you want? Answer the questions on this form, and Mrs. Oard will select some titles for you based on your preferences.

2. Set Time for Pickup

   • Curbside pickup appointments are available Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 9:00-11:00am and 1:00-3:00pm.

   • Fill out this form to let us know when you are able to come pick up your books, giving us a 30 minute window to expect your arrival. (If you cannot pick up your requested items during any of these times, please indicate on the form what days/times might work and Mrs. Oard will be in touch.)

   • Please sign up for a time at least 24 hours in advance so that Mrs. Oard has time to prepare your book(s) and ensure that your pickup time is available.

   • You will receive an email confirming we have received your request.

3. Safe Pick Up Procedures

   • At your appointment time, pull up in the bus loop on the east side of Alcott Middle School, on Garrison Dr.

   • Text “@amspickup” to 801010 or (937) 589-4999 to join the Alcott Curbside Pickup Remind. Once you get the confirmation message, you can reply to text directly with Mrs. Oard (if you get a notification that Mrs. Oard is only available through email, please ignore, she will receive your message). After subscribing once, you can use that number to pick up items in the future.

   • Text the Alcott Curbside Pickup Remind (after subscribing) to indicate you are here. Please roll down the back window of your car or pop open the trunk so your requested books can be placed there.

   • If you walk to the school, please stay at least 6 feet (on a marked spot) away from the east side entrance in front of the library, and we will bring your books outside for you.

   • Books can be returned when you come to pick up new books (in the bin provided by Mrs. Oard) or any other time during the school day by emailing Mrs. Oard.

   • Based on evolving guidelines about COVID-19 and various library materials, all returned books will be quarantined for a minimum of 6 days before being available to check out.

Curbside pickup policies and procedures may be adjusted in the future due to safety concerns or changing schedules. We appreciate your patience and flexibility.
