Learning to code teaches many other skills - in addition to coding ~ perseverance, trouble-shooting, creativity, patience, how to handle frustration, and teamwork to name a few. Computers aren't going away so having an understanding of how they work will be helpful information to have. Coding is also a profession that is here to stay and may be of interest to our students. Plus, it's fun!
