The Northfield Elementary staff is excited to announce that our 8th One School, One Book has officially kicked off! This school-wide literacy event helps foster a love for reading and promotes reading aloud. The Northfield Staff aims to build a community of readers at our school, as well as add some extra fun along the way!
On Friday, March 1, each student received a copy of the book Gooseberry Park and the Master Plan, by Cynthia Rylant. In addition to the book, students also received a "Gooseberry Park and the Master Plan Adventure Guide." The Adventure Guide includes an activity calendar, nightly trivia questions, as well as additional activities for the students to participate in to help enrich their OSOB experience!
Each year the Northfield Staff aims to enhance this program and provide the students and families with a variety of activities to participate in. Below are some exciting opportunities for families to take advantage of during Northfield's OSOB 2024:
A BINGO activity board! This board is filled with a variety of activities such as building a reading fort, acting out a scene from the book in a game of Charades, designing a new book cover, and even getting your whole family to read a chapter in their pajamas!
Voice Recordings of the chapters! Go to the "Chapter Recordings" tab on the website to find a link to each chapter and listen to one of the Northfield Elementary staff members read it.
A OSOB Family Night on Thursday, March 7, 2024. Session 1 6:00-6:55 (Last names A-L) Session 2 7:15-8:10 (Last names M-Z)
A Community Scavenger Hunt! This special event will take place from March 8th to March 19th!
