The objective of this workhop is to offer the best possible dissemination of knowledge on theory and implementation of Optimal Contribution Selection (OCS) in sustainable management of breeding and conservation programmes. During the workshop, participants will acquire the necessary skills for independent use of EVA software. The first part will introduce the theory as well as give an overview of EVA based on lectures and hands-on exercises. The final part will require participants to perform practical work on data and discuss in-depth interpretation of results and implementation challenges.
Please see "Workshop program" for details.
The main target group of the workshop is animal breeding specialists, professionals and students working with animal breeding in the Nordic and Baltic countries; e.g., representatives of breeding organizations, research institutes, universities, genetic resource centers, and people responsible for conservation programs for specific breeds.
