Section 504
Section 504 Accommodation Plans
Cadets with a diagnosis or impairment that substantially limits a major life activity may be eligible for for a 504 Accommodation Plan under Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973.
Reasonable classroom accommodations include, but are not limited to, extended time, calculator, breaking down assignments, preferential seating, and time-out breaks.
If your child has a previous 504 Plan, please provide that at the time of enrollment.
If your child has a diagnosis or impairment that you suspect is negatively impacting progress in the general education curriculum, contact NOMMA.
NOTE: 504 is a GENERAL Education initiative and laws governing do not fall under IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act); therefore 504 is not 'special education'. Eligibility under Section 504 is determined by the 504 Team and accommodations are provided in the general education classroom.
