MEET YOUR TEACHER

Prior to working in education, I was a senior staff accountant at a CPA firm where I did medical accounting, corporate and individual income taxes, and tax planning. As time went on, I had the need to work more closely with people and to make a bigger impact in the world. Therefore, I began my educational career as a paraprofessional at Osseo Senior High School in 2001. Soon after, I returned to school at Augsburg College to earn a B.S. in special education, and in 2004, began teaching at Fridley High School. Again, I returned to school, this time to complete a Masters in Classroom Instruction from Concordia University. I went on to the University of St. Thomas where I obtained her Education Specialist Degree and principal license.

My administration experience includes working as the Dean of students at Brooklyn Center High School, an Assistant Principal for District 287, the Assistant Principal of Maple Grove Middle School and in 2018-19 I was the Intermediate School Leader at Noble Academy. I am truly excited to return this year as Principal and now as your Distance Learning teacher!

My focus is to foster a positive and collaborative school climate focused on best practices, using data to set measurable goals to improve student learning, implementing positive behavior interventions and strategies, and developing teacher leaders. I have a background in curriculum development, differentiation, implementation of intervention strategies, EL and special education. I am dedicated to always doing what is best for each student’s learning.

I live in Buffalo with my husband, Mark. Together we raised six daughters and have ten grandchildren - so far! We love spending time at the cabin in the woods near Motley where we 4-wheel, enjoy bonfires, and see the beautiful stars at night! This summer, we were blessed to travel around the island of Antigua and visit family in Texas. I hope to do more traveling in the future someday.
