Mrs. McNichol’s Top Five Reminders
1. Please help your child wear his/her bus tag daily. When a student forgets a bus tag, we have to stop and take time away from instruction to make a new one so that your child can board the afternoon bus.
*Quick Tip: Store your child’s bus tag inside your child’s backpack.
2. Please label all jackets and coats with your child’s name. Labeling jackets and coats help the adults in the building to return the item to your child if your child leaves his/her coat somewhere in the building or on the bus.
3. Please help your child to complete Tracking Journal Homework nightly (Monday – Thursday). Return the Tracking Journal to school on Friday so that we can put the new poem/activity in the journal for the following week. Write the title of the book you read with your child on the reading calendar located in your child’s agenda.
4. Send the agenda to school DAILY. We desire to communicate about what is happening in the classroom, what your child is learning, how amazing your child is, and concerns. Communication is vital for a positive family – school connection.
5. Please be sure to send in an extra change of clothes in a labeled zip lock bag. Even if you are certain that your child will not have a bathroom accident, please send it in anyway. Sometimes kids spill liquids such as milk at lunch, for example, all down the fronts of their shirts and on their pants. Our nurse has a very limited amount of clothing available. If an accident occurs and your child doesn’t have a change of clothes, they will end up missing valuable instruction time. Thanks for your help!
