Class Expectations

Mrs. Jones' 6th Grade Advanced Math Class - Class Expectations

  • Be prepared on time daily with all required materials. Bring your math notebook to class EVERY day.
  • Meet all deadlines. Work is due when it is due! Late work will be penalized. Once a unit is complete, you will not be allowed to turn in any late work from that unit.
  • Make up any work missed due to absences. It is your responsibility to find out what you missed and make up assignments. Make sure you copy any notes that were given during your absence.
  • Show respect and courtesy toward all persons. Teasing, unkind words, and bullying have no place in the classroom or the school and will not be tolerated. Keep hands, feet, and objects to yourself.
  • Be Ready to Learn: Upon entering class, take out your homework and immediately begin the Do Now.
  • 10 Minute Rule: No one will be allowed to leave the room during the first and last ten minutes of class. If you must go to the bathroom or get water during class, raise your hand. Do not ask to use the bathroom or get water while I am actively teaching.
  • Agenda Use: You will use your agenda to write down your homework every day.

  • Tests and Quizzes: Tests and quizzes will be given for each unit throughout the semester. Tests will be announced a minimum of a week in advance. Quizzes may be announced or unannounced.
  • Homework/Class work: Home work will be given almost every school night (Monday – Thursday), with the exception of Fridays. Occasionally, no homework will be assigned. All homework is due at the start of the next class period unless announced.
  • Materials: Students are expected to have their supplies every class period:
  1. Interactive Notebook (composition book)
  2. Pencils
  3. Highlighters
  4. Colored Pencils/Markers/Crayons – Your choice
  5. Glue Sticks
