Class Expectations

For our students to learn and enjoy learning, it is important that we all – students, teachers, and families – know what is expected of one another in terms of behavior. Aligning with all school and district policies/expectations, class expectations are simple:

Come prepared to learn – This means being fully present in class with both the materials and the mindset to learn

Respect all people and property – Be kind and courteous to all, respect differences, value and support others, treat others as you wish to be treated and their property as if it were your own. Teasing, unkind words, and bullying will not be tolerated.

Be Your Best Today! – Today’s best should always be better than yesterday’s best. Come to school every day and give your best. Tomorrow, beat that best.

10 Minute Rule- No one will be allowed to leave the room during the first and last ten minutes of class. If you must go to the restroom or get water during class, raise your hand. Do not ask to use the restroom or get water while during active teaching.

Make up work any work missed due to absences. It is your responsibility to find out what you missed and make up assignments. Make sure you copy any notes that were given during your absence.

Be in compliance with the Student Rights & Responsibilities handbook and Hines Middle School expectations.

Consequences are determined by school policy.
