Reed Suggestions

Clarinet reed recommendation

Alto Sax Reed Recommendation

It is recommended that all middle school musicians start on and use level 2 1/2 reeds.  Second and third year players may prefer level 3 but should ask the band director before moving forward to the thicker reeds as this will make them more difficult to play for the developing embouchure.

Whether or not the instrument you are using is rented or owned, instrument cleaning and upkeep is ESSENTIAL.  Wind instruments can get very GROSS when not kept up and cleaned routinely.  In order to keep your instrument at it's best, a few supplies are needed to maintain the health of your instrument. In this section you will find several links to cleaning kits and other necessary items that are specific to your instrument. Be reminded these are simply suggestions and most instrument cleaning kits/items are effective.
