Week of September 1, 2025:
School picture day is TODAY. Orders can be placed online at https://inter-state.com/FlyerEntry and using code 0121FSF
Homecoming is around the corner. Homecoming week is September 15th-19th. The homecoming dance will be on Saturday, September 20th. More information will be shared soon.
Students who plan on bringing a guest to the homecoming dance must submit their guest pass forms to the main office by September 10, 2025. Pass forms are available in Student Services and the main office.
Our first planned eLearning Day is Wednesday, September 17th. Students will not be in the building on this day and will complete their work at home. Teachers will go over the expectations with students prior to the eLearning day.
This school year, our school has switched from Chromebooks to iPads. Students are reminded to keep their devices charged each day to be ready for learning.
Cell phones are not to be used during instructional time. Keeping phones put away supports focus and engagement in learning—and it is also required by state law.
Exciting news, ALL students are eligible for FREE breakfast and lunches for the 2025-2026 school year. If you have any questions about this please reach out to Elena Micula emicula@nn.k12.in.us
During the school year, every Wednesday will be an Early Release day. Students will be dismissed from school at 1:20PM. On September 17th and April 15th students will have a planned eLearning day. This will be in part of professional development for our staff.
Our district has an anonymous tip line. Students and families are encouraged to use the "Say Something Anonymous Tip Line" to report any concerns about safety, including potential drug-related activities. This tool helps empower our school community to play an active role in keeping our environment safe. This reporting system can be located on our district website, texting TIP to 79775, or going to www.saysomething.net.
Should you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to me, Kathryn Heintz, at kheintz@nn.k12.in.us, or to Assistant Principal Tony Brooks at tbrooks@nn.k12.in.us.

Congratulations to the students in Ms. Steven’s class who competed in the basketball championship and came out on top. Students in Ms. Zacher's STEM class have been hard at work designing and building boats using cardboard, duct tape, soft plastic, and zip ties. They were thrilled to finally launch their creations and test whether they could hold the weight of a person.
