7th grade science classes have been learning about igneous rocks. Students used chocolate chips to model sediments, students melted them down to represent magma. After allowing the chocolate to cool and harden, they observed how igneous rocks form through the cooling process. Our 8th grade students in Engineering and Technology are hard at work designing and building mousetrap vehicles. Through this hands-on project, students are applying engineering principles, problem-solving skills, and creativity as they test, adjust, and improve their designs.
