Week of October 27, 2025:
We hope everyone had a nice weekend. The colder weather is making it's way in.
On Tuesday, our JAG students, along with several seniors, will attend the Construction and Skilled Trades Day at the Lake County Fairgrounds. This event gives students the opportunity to explore career pathways in construction, welding, electrical work, and other skilled trades while connecting with local employers and training programs.
On Friday, our Spanish students will celebrate Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) by attending a movie and enjoying lunch at a Spanish restaurant. This cultural experience allows students to learn more about the traditions and significance of this important holiday while practicing their Spanish language skills in a fun and engaging way.
Our 8th grade band and choir will present their Fall Concert this Thursday at 6:00 PM. Come out to support our young musicians as they showcase what they’ve been working on this semester!
Next Tuesday, November 4, students will participate in a Body Safety Assembly. The program empowers students to recognize and respond to cyberbullying, the four types of abuse (physical, emotional, sexual, and neglect), relationship abuse, digital abuse, and other online risks. It is based on the latest research and has been reviewed and endorsed by national experts.
If you do not want your student to attend, they must pick up a Parent Opt-Out Form in Student Services and return the signed form to Student Services before the assembly.
Don't forget that this Sunday Day Light Saving ends and clocks go back an hour.

During the school year, every Wednesday will be an Early Release day. Students will be dismissed from school at 1:20PM.
Our district has an anonymous tip line. Students and families are encouraged to use the "Say Something Anonymous Tip Line" to report any concerns about safety, including potential drug-related activities. This tool helps empower our school community to play an active role in keeping our environment safe. This reporting system can be located on our district website, texting TIP to 79775, or going to www.saysomething.net.
Should you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to me, Kathryn Heintz, at kheintz@nn.k12.in.us, or to Assistant Principal Tony Brooks at tbrooks@nn.k12.in.us.

Our third-year Culinary Pathway students recently experimented with a new sugar cookie technique in class. They created marbled sugar cookies in beautiful fall colors using leaf-shaped cookie cutters. Students also learned how to make royal icing and practiced achieving different consistencies for flooding their cookies. Each lab this year will introduce students to new and advanced baking techniques, helping them refine their skills and creativity in the kitchen.
