Work Permits

If you dropped of your work permit application for processing, please stop by Ms. Zuniga's desk in the Counseling Office and pick it up. Remember, you can't work without a valid work permit on file at your place of employment.

Field Studies Trip

Field Studies is back! Our first trip of the year is a 4-day road trip up the Eastern Sierra, September 27th through 30th. There is an interest meeting is Thursday, September 11th, at lunch in Mr. McClanahan's room, science 202. If you can't make the meeting but are interested, please contact Mr. McClanahan.

Educational Trip opportunity

Celebrate America's 250th birthday in Boston! Have you ever wanted to go to Boston, the birthplace of our nation? Join your classmates on a fun filled and special visit to the city of Boston, Massachusetts. Walk the cobblestone streets and see where history was made with an excursion to excusion to Salem, the location of the infamous Salem Witch Hunt Trials. See the Boston Tea Party Museum and board a vintage ship in Boston Harbor. See Mrs. Fisher in Lower Sims for more information!

IB EXAM REGISTRATION

Attention juniors and seniors, if you are planning to take the IB exams this year, please note that SEPTEMBER is IB exam registration month. The registration and payment process is simple and consists of two steps:

1. Fill out the Google form: https://forms.gle/cQQJWnBtCidqNFHX7

2. Pay for your IB exam fees at the ASB window. Registration is not complete until fees are paid. The May 2026 IB exam fee is $124.00 per exam.

The deadline for IB exam registration is Tuesday, September 30th. Late fees will apply after Sept. 30th. If you have any questions, please visit Ms. Di Giorgio in Dodge Hall room 253 during lunchtime on B Days, after school, or email adigiorgio@nmusd.us

CSF Applications

Attention Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors! California Scholarship Federation's new round of applications are now available in the counseling office with Mrs. Bolding and Mrs. Nguyen. Make sure to read the directions carefully, complete the application and attach your last semester's grades (that you can access on Aeries). Applications are due NO LATER than Friday, SEPTEMBER 26TH to Mrs. Nguyen. For those who are unsure what CSF is and want to know more, there will be an informational meeting on Tuesday, 9/16 at lunch in the SLC.

athletics

Boys' basketball tryouts will take place on September 9th and 10th from 3:45 PM to 5:00 PM in the main gym. All athletes must get a flyer from Coach Torribio in Beek 163, complete it, and return it to him before trying out. A separate tryout will be held for fall sport athletes after their season ends. Go Sailors!

Newport Harbor Sailing tryouts are Tuesday and Wednesday of this week at 2:45 pm at Newport Harbor Yacht Club.. See Coach Chalmers in Beek 162 for details.
