It all began in seventh grade when I first learned about the career of a neurosurgeon through a class presentation. Fast forward a few months, in April of 2017 my father was receiving a neurosurgical operation on his C4 through C7 cervical spine (neck) called anterior cervical discectomy (decompression) and fusion surgery (ACDF). This event forever changed my perception of the medical field and the career of a surgeon as a whole.
