Traffic in current environment is very deformable with high degree of uncertainty causing accidents and traffic jams. In future we will see increase of more number of public and private vehicles, so there is a need to introduce autonomous vehicles to reduce the accidents and traffic jams. We designed a Prototype of Autonomous car which consists of Set of sensors, actuators and programmable microcontroller board. The designed vehicle will follows the traffic rules by driving the car as per lanes, it also consists of mechanism to detect obstacle/moving/stationary objects in front. Using the rear and front sensors we can avoid the collisions and also prepare a route path for smart navigation. We have used Arduino uno programmable board with set of IR and ultrasonic sensors and STEPPER motors to control the vehicle direction and speed. These vehicles can be first introduced in Smart Cities of India and later can be extended to other cities. The designed vehicle will also reduce the emission of carbon dioxide by using Solar power.
