The New Mexico Region of Phi Theta Kappa was officially formed in January 1997.
The Region supports scholarship and academic excellence in accredited two-year community and technical colleges in the New Mexico region. The Region’s programming enhances the development and growth of its members and provides greater service to colleges and local communities within the Region, and to the Phi Theta Kappa International Organization.
Specific regional programs include scholarships for regional and international events, regional conferences and conventions, officer training and travel to chapters within the region, mailings, and awards.
Regional programs are supported almost entirely by chapter dues through the induction of new members. Chapters in good standing are eligible for various regional programs, such as awards competitions and regional officer elections. Registration fees for regional events are used for event-related expenses.
