The Gibbs Media Center has a large selection of items that relate to the curriculum and reading needs of students and teachers grades K-5. All materials are selected according to criteria relating to the appropriateness of content and durability.
The check-out period for students is two weeks. Students will come to the library on a weekly scheduled basis. Students in grades K-5 will check out one book at a time. All books must be returned during their scheduled library time before another book may be borrowed.
When a student has an overdue book, he or she cannot check out another book from the library until the overdue book is returned. If a child has an overdue book, it will result in no additional check-outs until the overdue book is returned. No fines are charged for overdue books.
The full replacement cost will be charged for any lost materials. Until the lost book is paid for, it will be treated like an overdue book. Books not returned or paid for by the end of the school year will result in your child's report card being held by the office. If a book is damaged while checked out to a student, a charge will be made to cover the cost of repairing the book. If the book is beyond repair, it will be treated like a lost book, and the full replacement cost will be charged.
