In learning about the art element of shape, fourth grade artists learned about Henri Matisse's paper cut-out collages, and created their own using organic and geometric shapes.

In learning about line, grade 4 artists started with a contour line drawing of a cat and finished the piece with gestural lines in the background.
This unit on SHAPE focused on the paper cutouts of Henry Matisse and his method of "Drawing with Scissors."
