Conferences
Prior to conference attendance:
If there is a registration fee for the conference, the district will reimburse up to $70 of the fee and the North Merrick Teacher Center will reimburse up to $100 additional (pending available funds).
To receive reimbursement from the Teacher Center, complete the request form for reimbursement approval at the subsequent Policy Board Meeting. After the meeting, you will be notified of approval.
Conference Reimbursement Request Form
If you have been approved for or will not need additional compensation, complete a conference request form on My Learning Plan (In-District courses - yellow form; Out-of-District Courses - green form) including request for district reimbursement and approved NMTC reimbursement amount. (Note: Requests for administrative approval MUST be submitted with sufficient time for processing before registering for the conference.)
Once submitted, your request will be voted on at the subsequent Board of Education meeting. You will be notified with the decision. Once approved, you can register for the conference and pay applicable registration fees.
After conference attendance:
To receive reimbursement from the NMTC, submit proof of conference attendance (registration forms with approval from My Learning Plan and certificate of attendance (from My Learning Plan or distributed at the conference) along with the receipt for payment (copy of canceled check or credit card statement in your name) to Roe Marti at PPS.
To receive reimbursement from the district, see your building secretary for paperwork and procedures.
