Can't believe they have grown so much in one day!
Woke up this morning, May 20 and we have one sprout.
Looked again in the evening and two more poked up through the soil. I wonder what tomorrow will bring?
Noticed today that our seeds finally started to germinate.
Can you see this? We are really excited!
We are doing a little experiment to see if planting in egg shells will help with growing. We hope our plants will continue to grow!!
Here is what I used to get started.
Put seeds in paper towel.
Added a little water to paper towel and folded so seeds wouldn't fall out.
Placed seeds in ziplock bag and taped to window.
Here is a little experiment I am trying for myself and my kids. When I have taught grade 1 in the past we always try and grow beans but I thought it would be fun to try something different. Here is what we did:
Step 1: Took seeds out of the peppers I had in my fridge.
Step 2: Put the seeds in a slightly wet paper towel.
Step 3: Fold paper towel so the seeds don't fall out.
Step 4: Put into ziplock bag.
Step 5: Tape the ziplock to window.
We have been successful in getting some other seeds to germinate in this way so hopefully this time it will work as well. Time will tell. Stay tuned......
Step 6: Wait..... (We waited about 2 weeks before we noticed that the seeds had germinated)
Step 7: Plant some germinated seeds in egg shells and the rest in just the egg carton.
Step 8: Water the germinated seeds in the soil and wait.........
