At the end of this lesson, you will be able to locate the In-Call Messages and People panels, identify the participants in the Meet and enter in-call messages to communicate with other participants.
To see a list of the Meet participants, go to the People Panel in the bottom right-hand corner of Meet. The People Panel is represented by a person icon. By clicking here, you will see a list of all the participants in the Meet. You can mute all participants in the top left of the People panel or mute one participant at a time by clicking the microphone icon next to their name. As the host, you can click on the three dots next to a person's name for more options. You will be able to pin their display to your screen, remove a participant or add them as a co-host. Adding them as a co-host will give them all the same permissions as a host, so they will be able to navigate between breakout rooms, launch polls, admit and remove participants, etc. Keep in mind, once you remove a participant from a Meet, they cannot rejoin.
To start up a conversation between participants in a Meet, click on the speech bubble icon, to the right of the people icon, to open the In-Call Messages Panel. As the Host you will be able to control who can participate in the chat (all participants or just the hosts).
Now, use the steps you have learned to open a Meet (preferably with another participant/colleague) and explore the People panel and type an in-call message to the participants.
