     Pink Shirt Day

As you know, Pink Shirt Day celebrates kindness and equality. It shows that being kind is better than being mean. Have you ever heard the quote “It's not cool to be cruel”? This quote is usually printed on pink shirts because it is a perfect definition.

It all started in Berwick, Nova Scotia in 2007. A new student which was a boy was bullied for wearing a pink shirt to school. At that time most people thought that blue was for boys, and pink was for girls and that the opposite gender couldn't wear the “assigned” colour. Two senior students named David Shepherd and Travis Prince saw this, and bought 50 pink shirts and started encouraging their classmates and students to wear them as a symbol to overrule the bullies.

If you have ever been bullied, don't feel threatened to speak up about it. Pink shirt day takes place on Wednesday, February 26th 2025. Almost all stores across Canada put out various pink shirt designs for people to buy and wear. Make sure you wear a pink shirt!

Why I joined Raptors Rock

I joined Raptors Rock because I have nothing to do after school and I really want an activity to do. I want to make new friends because I don't have a lot of friends and I want to be  kind to people  so that's why I joined Raptors Rock.

Hi, I'm Genaya! I'm going to tell you why I wanted to join Raptors Rock!

I wanted to join Raptors Rock because then I would get included in the school's awesome program! We get to paint murals on the walls of the school, we get to announce the Rock Stars of the Week on the P.A system, and we get to add even more spice and colour to the school!

I'm also surrounded by wonderful and kind people that always work together! I am very artistic and creative, so I decided I might as well put my skills to good use!

Hello, I’m Micheala, and I joined Raptors Rock because I love helping people. And, it's fun! 

I like to help out. Helping people makes me happy and even when I'm in school it's fun to help out and be mature. 

And, Raptors Rock deals with a lot of creative stuff.         

I love being creative! It's very fun doing fun, creative 

things that help the school. I love art! I love everything!
