ABOUT ME...

Hello. My name is Anushya Somers. I was born and raised in South Africa. My husband, two boys and myself immigrated to Newfoundland in 2011. In my spare time I enjoy gardening and reading.

I joined the GC family in October 2014 as an Instructional Resource Teacher (IRT). In 2016, I completed my Masters Degree in Inclusive Education at Acadia University.

I look forward to working with you and your child to make this a successful school year.

MY JOB...

I work very closely with the Pervasive Needs students in Room 101 together with the student assistants.

I try to create a safe, productive classroom environment where the lessons are very hands on and we help prepare the students to cope with the challenges of life outside the classroom. English, Math and Life Skills are taught daily by teaching across the curriculum.

Our classroom is a
