- Happiness Journal: Please write a sentence for every day this week (including one for this past weekend) that is extended. We discussed what an extended sentence this morning where we add info using the Who, What, When, Where and How

-Read you french Leveled readers daily and return them in class daily as we will be reading them in class as well. These should be returned on Fridays with Homework. Some children have received 2.

-Do you have a special rock or collection of Rocks you would like to show us? Bring it in this week for Show and share:-)

Hi folks,

Here are a few reminders for this week:

1. Homework  

- words of the week  

-review Avoir and être - these are 2 main irregular verbs and we will review them this week together

-Journal de Bord - This is a journal entry on anyplace of your choosing: ex kitchen, livingroom, backyard etc

the children are asked to use their 5 senses to write about their observations in french. 

Word Reference is a wonderful online dictionary to help with unknown words, but any online dictionary of your choice is fine.

-Leveled readers will begin next Monday. More info to follow.

Library on Tuesday - please return all books

2. Early Pick-Up - If you pick up your child early, please buzz in at the office and they will message us to tell us you are there

3. Worms: Are there any parents interested in helping us feed our compost worms? They can eat any vegetable/fruit cut up small with the exception of citrus and onions/chives/garlic and Banana peels(due to allergy) .

It needs to be cut up small. If I hear from a few of you I'll create a schedule. Usually the food will be brought in every Thursday and we will feed them on Friday.

4. Prize box/ Board Games - We are looking for donations of tiny dollar store prizes for our prize box. The kids get a prize for speaking French for various settings/activities and absolutely love the chance to pick from our Treasure Box. If you would like to donate any tiny prizes, stickers, pencils, flags, hockey cards or whatever we would gratefully accept!

5. Daycare - If your child is not going to Daycare due to other activities (EX cross-country) please inform daycare.

Hi folks,

I am excited to announce that we are diving into our Goggle Classroom with our first "research project" on T.A. Loaffler (the explorer that gave us a presentation on her adventures a few weeks ago). 

This project will be completed at home, but also the children will be given some time in class.  Her website/Blog and a Goggle Slide/Doc are linked to the assignment. 

Note: 

It will be due Friday, December 17th. Please do not forget to hit the Blue submit button. 

Also, it is necessary to enter through the classwork section under Social Studies. For some reason, it does not show the Google slides /Doc in Stream on the main page. 

Also, Please use the Google slides /Doc provided and not start a new one as These are connected to our classroom.


The purpose of this project is to not only explore and write about T.A. Loaffler, but also to provide the children a chance to practice using either Google Slides/ Google Documents. They had lots of fun today trying out the different fonts, colours and fill options. 

In our DAily 5 Block today, I gave Guided lessons to everyone on where to find the project and where to begin.
