I hope everyone had a well deserved rest on this long Thanksgiving weekend. Here are a few reminders for this week: October 10-13th
Homework:
-Words and Verb of the week
- french book to read
-Automne - write a paragraph of 5 or more sentences on Fall
Fire prevention week - This is Fire Prevention week. As a family, I encourage everyone (kids included) to check those fire alarms and extinguishers for expired dates. Also, why not talk about and practice evacuations.
Needles: Needle day is Wednesday, October 11th. The nurses are wonderful with the kids. If the child cannot go through with the needle, the family will be informed to reschedule an appointment outside of school time:-)
Rock Presentations- If your child has a special.group of rocks they would like to share, they can continue to bring them in this week
Salt dough fossils: I am asking your child to bring in a small, hard object that would be suitable to press firmly in a dough like substance in order to make a fossil.

- Happiness Journal: Please write a sentence for every day this week (including one for this past weekend) that is extended. We discussed what an extended sentence this morning where we add info using the Who, What, When, Where and How
-Read you french Leveled readers daily and return them in class daily as we will be reading them in class as well. These should be returned on Fridays with Homework. Some children have received 2.
-Do you have a special rock or collection of Rocks you would like to show us? Bring it in this week for Show and share:-)

Hi folks,
I am excited to announce that we are diving into our Goggle Classroom with our first "research project" on T.A. Loaffler (the explorer that gave us a presentation on her adventures a few weeks ago).
This project will be completed at home, but also the children will be given some time in class. Her website/Blog and a Goggle Slide/Doc are linked to the assignment.
Note:
It will be due Friday, December 17th. Please do not forget to hit the Blue submit button.
Also, it is necessary to enter through the classwork section under Social Studies. For some reason, it does not show the Google slides /Doc in Stream on the main page.
Also, Please use the Google slides /Doc provided and not start a new one as These are connected to our classroom.
The purpose of this project is to not only explore and write about T.A. Loaffler, but also to provide the children a chance to practice using either Google Slides/ Google Documents. They had lots of fun today trying out the different fonts, colours and fill options.
In our DAily 5 Block today, I gave Guided lessons to everyone on where to find the project and where to begin.
