About Me:

Hello and welcome,

My name is Stephen Carter and this is my first year at Gander Collegiate and my 16th year teaching.  For the past 15 years I have lived in the great Canadian Arctic in Iqaluit Nunavut.  I taught at Inuksuk High school as the Industrial Arts teacher for 9 years, and the last 6 years I taught welding.  

I am originally from Springdale NL and myself, my wife Gillian, and our three boys Hayden, Ethan, and Jordan are excited to re-locate back to the Island to be closer to family.  

I have completed 3 degrees and one diploma at Memorial University including a Bachelor of Physical Education with an Chemistry Minor, a Bachelor of Education, a Diploma in Technology and in 2013 I completed my Masters in Education.

This year at GC I will be teaching 2 sections of Healthy Living 1200, 2 Sections of Human Dynamics 2201, Occupational Health and Safety 3203, and Career Education 2202.  

In my free time you can find me with my family, often coaching Minor hockey.  I love coaching and being involved in any sport.  Hockey is one of my favourite past times.
