HTH - Updates and Reminders (September 26th, 2025)
Dear Families,
Please see the following updates and reminders for the week of September 29th, 2025. If you have any questions or require clarification please reach out directly to the staff member indicated. In the event no staff member is listed, members of our administrative team or office staff will be able to help.
Orange Shirt Day and Truth and Reconciliation (September 29th and 30th)
Monday, September 29th will be Orange Shirt Day at HTH in recognition of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. School will be closed on Tuesday, September 30th to honour the day. Classes will resume for all staff and students on Tuesday, October 1st (Day 7).
Chromebook Issues
Please be advised that due to the considerable number of requests we have received regarding damaged, missing and otherwise broken NLSchools issued devices, our school has exhausted its personal supply of loaner Chromebooks. While we continue to issue tickets and submit eligible devices to IT for repairs, we anticipate this process to take anywhere between 4 - 12 weeks due to the significant number of devices which have been impacted.
We ask that you please review the following items if this applies to your student at HTH:
Chargers are not replaced by HTH or NLSchools. If a charger has been misplaced or damaged it is the responsibility of the family to purchase a replacement.
Damaged or lost Chromebook replacement is at the discretion of NLSchools and HTH. If a student has been provided with more than one device, no additional devices will be issued at this time.
Priority for replacement begins with students who require a device to meet programming needs. This specifically applies to students who avail of Assistive Technology.
We are exploring options with NLSchools IT for families who have purchased a personal Chromebook for their child. Due to the security measures required to maintain the safety of our network, devices cannot be added to the school WiFi unless they are registered/controlled by NLSchools. We continue to meet with NLSchools IT to identify if this is an option and will advise families when we have more information.
Water Conservation Notices - Impact on HTH
In accordance with the water conservation notice which has been issued by the Town of Torbay, we would like to advise all families of the following:
We continue to work with NLSchools Facilities to ensure that access to drinking water remains at HTH throughout the school day. While water from our taps is safe to drink, our fountains continue to experience operational challenges. This is not a new issue for our school, but one which has increased in severity as Town water levels have reached emergency levels. If individuals are using our tap water, we ask that they find a kitchen area.
Filters in our fountains are replaced every 7 - 10 days and considerably improve the flow of water. This is routinely done at our school and further measures are being taken to update the school's filtration system.
We ask that all students bring a filled water bottle to school if they anticipate needing it throughout the school day. This will lessen demand in the building and extend the functionality of our fountains.
A limited supply of bottled water will be available at the office if needed. This will be available if we continue to experience challenges with our fountains or for students requiring it for health related matters
We appreciate your continued support as we collectively navigate a difficult time for our school and community. We ask that you please speak with your child on the importance of conserving water while in the school setting.
Parking Lot - Pick Up and Drop Off
We would like to once again remind families that our parking lot can become very congested during our pickup and drop off times. Families are asked to arrive at the school between 8:50 - 9:05 and 2:15 - 2:30. Excessive numbers of families lining up ahead of these times is impacting our ability for buses to enter and exit our parking lot. In addition, we would like to remind all students that parking in the main thoroughfare of our lot is not permitted. Students will be asked to move their vehicles if they are blocking lanes, exits or entrances.
Thanksgiving Holiday and PL Day - October 13h and 14th, 2025
There will be no school for students on Monday, October 13th and Tuesday, October 14th as staff participate in Professional Learning. School will resume for all students on Wednesday, October 15th (Day 2).

Further information will be shared as we approach the date and student volunteers are welcome to help! If your child is interested in volunteering, they can leave their name with a member of our office staff
Terry Fox - Walk for the Cure (Friday, September 19th)
HTH's Terry Fox Walk will be taking place on Friday, September 19th. Students and families who are able are asked to please make a nominal donation of $2.00 to help support this important cause. Keeping with tradition, we will also be hosting a BBQ during our lunch hour to celebrate the day and promote a greater sense of community. This event is open to HTH students only, but once again, volunteers are appreciated! Families can also donate directly to our school by visiting the Terry Fox website: Click Here

HTH - Updates and Reminders (August 29th)
Dear Families,
Please see the following updates and reminders for the week of September 8th, 2025. If you have any questions or require clarification please reach out directly to the staff member indicated. In the event no staff member is listed, members of our administrative team or office staff will be able to help.
School Athletics
Holy Trinity High has a strong school athletics program that provides a variety of sports for student athletes. Information on school athletics can be found on our Athletics Website. This year all athletes will be required to sign up for school team try-outs. Try-outs for fall sports will happen early in the school year. Athletes should complete this form and provide an email they check regularly for try-out information and updates. Inquiries about student athletics can be directed to Athletic Director Alyssa Brennan alyssabrennan@nlschools.ca or VP Stephanie Chaytor stephaniechaytor@nlschools.ca
School Fees - Incorrect Information Showing
We have been informed that many fees which were posted last year to students have now reappeared on Rycor Accounts. PLEASE DO NOT PAY ANY FEES WHICH ARE CURRENTLY POSTED. These fees have been posted in error and we are working to have them removed from family accounts. While we anticipate this has impacted mostly student athletes, others may be seeing similar items.
Course Changes, Parking Registration, PowerSchool Accounts and Chromebook Issues
As with the beginning of any school year we are working our way through requests for Courses, Parking, PowerSchool and Chromebooks. To date the administration has received over 300+ total requests and we are working as quickly as possible to address each one. We ask that you continue to be patient as we work through these requests. A reminder that the following forms are available for students to complete:
Course Change Request (2025/2026)
Student Parking (Registration) (2025/2026)
Student Forms - Rycor (due on September 10th, 2025)
A reminder that all student forms are now located on Rycor and must be completed before Wednesday, September 10th. Please use the link in our Family Portal to gain access to these forms. If you have questions, please check in with a member of the admin team.
Pick up and Drop Off Procedures
We would like to remind all members of our school community that drop off for students takes place between 8:40 - 8:55. We ask that you please drop of your child and promptly leave the parking lot. For pick up we are noticing considerable congestion as families are lining up and blocking our entrance/exits. This does create a safety risk for our students and staff. We ask that you wait until the dismissal of our buses (~3:15) before arriving in our lot. We will continue to monitor our parking lot and further direction may be taken if needed.
Picture Day (September 10th, 2025)
A reminder that picture day for all staff and students will be taking place on Wednesday, September 10th. All students are required to have their picture taken. This ensures our profiles are updated on PowerSchool and for the Yearbook. Students may wear their hats for their pictures but faces must be visible and recognizable.
We hope the first week of school has been a safe and enjoyable one for all our students!
Regards,
The HTH Admin Team
