Everything you need to know about Community Angels
Community Angels is an experiment in kindness, a tool to connect neighbors with their neighborhoods.
A "Community Angel" is someone who is willing to help others driven by the goodness in their hearts, having no expectations of anything in return. This can include helping someone with snow clearing, cutting grass, bringing in groceries, and so much more. These acts of kindness are especially helpful to seniors as well as people in our community who have disabilities.
No its not. They are many different places across Canada that has a similar tool in their communities.
All I ask is that you spread the good word. Just tell friends, family, and neighbors that we exist. Social media, community groups, social clubs, the guy sitting next to you at the bus stop ... the only way this works is if people hear about us and I just officially made you an ambassador.
Yes. Make sure to check with your local high school first, but this organization is a non-profit volunteer-based program so it can totally count for your volunteer hours! Contact me through Facebook or email.
No. You can make ZERO money doing this.
My gut feeling is no. They volunteered to do it and you are under no pressure to tip them or give them a gift. There are plenty of people out there who will shovel your walkway or mow your lawn for money. Community Angels are not those people. A heartfelt "thank you" might be nice though, as well as paying it forward.
There is only one way that we know of so far. Do what we did, bring it there yourself.
