Two groups are responsible for the content on this page
Group 1 The SIAC Committee
The SIAC committee, selected by teachers and administrators in the district and approved by the school board (the school board also placed two members on the committee), first came together on January 29 after the School Board asked Superintendent Chad Wahls to look into this type of calendar. The SIAC committees' first agenda items were to come up with a list of questions that we believed our community would want to have answered about the four-day school week. After that, they discussed what kind of questions should be on the surveys to parents, students, teachers, and community members. They were also given a list of pros and cons with research to review before the next meeting. At the February 26 meeting, they reviewed the informational website, gave feedback, and they also reviewed and tested the surveys and gave feedback. They agreed that with a few small changes, both were ready to go at the Public Forum on February 29. They will meet again on March 6 to review the research and view the survey responses; ultimately, they will be giving the recommendation to Mr. Wahls, who will then take it to the school board.
The SIAC committee welcomes any questions that you have; we are listing their names here:
Michelle and Cael Wilka, Allison and Jaden Bergman, Sheila Santos, Tyson Wintermeyer, Melissa Jacobs, Seth and Abbi Denney, Grant McPheron, Cody Lambert, Liz Kuckler, Dana Cole and Bella Parker, Heather and Jonathan Sharp, Jennifer Loyd, Becky Hays, Wende and Landon Smyth, Todd Palmatier, Scott Kracht, Allison Lair, and Chad Wahls
Group 2 SCC Concurrent Enrollment Class, Technical Writing
This class has predominately been responsible for creating content that the SIAC requires. They are responsible for the actual creation of the website, the surveys, the FAQs, and the social media posts. They have also been responsible for interviewing various groups.
The technical writing students are a group of students who are very accessible to our student population who may have questions. These students include Abigail Denney, Destry Farris, Kaiden Holtkamp, Jason Kruse, and Colbie Nealey. Their instructor is Allison Lair.
