Ms. Spence, Mrs. Timan-Morthland, and I completed a book study in the summer of 2017 about The Edible Schoolyard Project, student gardening, and student cooking. Watching youtube videos about Alice Waters' The Edible Schoolyard Project were helpful as well. Ms. Spence, a couple Purdue Extension staff members, and I attended a wonderful field trip to 4 Indianapolis school gardens. We have been using many of the ideas from the book study and field trip to mold our Lincoln Green Thumbs gardens, orchard, and garden/cooking club lessons.
