Drinking alcohol while taking antidepressants is dangerous and potentially lethal. Those with depression are more likely to turn to alcohol because it initially makes the person feel euphoric, yet this is the alcohol tricking the person. Alcohol is a depressant, so after a while, the "good feelings" produced by alcohol become negative ones, causing the person's depression to only worsen. Alcohol can also increase the risk of experiencing the dangerous side effects of antidepressants, overdose, addiction, and can cause the antidepressant to become less effective.
