Mr. Guenther has been the Director of Bands at Kingston High School since 2015. During that time, he has led the Buccaneers to numerous accolades in the jazz, concert, and marching band realms while the groups have travelled regionally and nationally. He is proud to have fostered a culture of care and musical excellence in the program. He was humbled to be selected as the North Kitsap School District Secondary Teacher of the Year for the 2022-23 school year.

Prior to his arrival in Kingston, Mr. G spent six years studying music at Washington State University. During his time at WSU, he performed with the Wind Ensemble, Jazz Big Band, and various jazz combos. He also co-founded a music advocacy organization, which has raised over $200,000 for the performing arts at WSU to date. He graduated with honors in 2013 with a Bachelor of Music in Music Education, and in 2015 with a Master of Arts in Music.

Hailing from Covington, WA, Mr. Guenther attended Kentwood High School. He is a major Mariners, Seahawks, and Kraken fan. He also loves to ski and play softball. Mr. G resides in Poulsbo with his wife (Kim) and cats (Pickles, Poncho).
