I am really excited about the 2019-20 school year. My goal is that every student I teach this year will see what they are able to do now and understand that they can be successful. A large part of a student’s success involves parents so I welcome your input and your assistance!
I have been teaching 3rd grade at GWES since the fall of 1998 (21 years). As a teacher, I learn new things myself every day and get to see students as they master new skills and grow!
My higher education began at James Madison University where I earned a B.A. in History. I then attended Syracuse University and earned an M.A. in Museum Studies. After a few years in the museum field working for the Virginia Historical Society, I went back to the College of William and Mary and earned an M.A. in Education. I am certified to teach grades K – 8.
I am close to my family and have 5 nieces and nephews. I enjoy spending time in the mountains of North Carolina (see pictures). Some of my favorite activities are reading, hiking, traveling, spending time with friends and family, managing my fantasy football teams (the Silverstars, etc), and watching my youngest niece and my two younger nephews play soccer.
