The power of stories is cross-curricular! During a math training last year, we were using the book Mouse Count by Ellen Stoll Walsh to talk about introducing young learners to addition and subtraction. A teacher mentioned that, during a previous unit with the classic "Three Little Pigs", her students discovered "Three Little Javelinas" and wanted all the stories to be about javelinas! What a perfect opportunity to create an engaging, student-driven story, using math, a little AI (ChatGPT & Canva), and a lot of student voice!
When this Survivor contestant with Autism went "viral" in April 2025, I knew I needed to find a way for Eva's story to live on after the media attention and after Season 48 ends. I created this digital story for teachers and families to access and share! Images are from Google and the template is in Canva - it's that easy to share YOUR story next!
