Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 is a federal law that prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex in education programs or activities operated by an institution receiving federal financial assistance.
NJIT prohibits sexual harassment, sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence, and stalking. NJIT also prohibits retaliation against any person who, in good faith, reports or makes a Formal Complaint of sexual misconduct or interpersonal violence or who testifies, assists, or participates or refuses to participate in any manner in an investigation or resolution process under this policy. NJIT is committed to responding to all reports of misconduct. Individuals who are found responsible for engaging in Prohibited Conduct [...] in violation of this policy are subject to sanction by NJIT, up to and including expulsion from NJIT and termination of employment.
