If building owners do not emphasize the importance of well-trained custodial and maintenance personnel, asbestos O&M tasks may not be performed properly. This could result in higher levels of asbestos fibers in the building air and an increased risk to building workers and occupants
.

In this session you'll get an idea of how to boost student achievement through math projects. Projects may be organized and tiered for different grades. It is a chance to teach students math applications in real life situations and collaborate with other subjects and careers. You'll offer your students a chance to get away from the textbooks. Some simple projects that are offered for cross-curricular learning include: marine navigation, orienteering/use of a compass for pirate treasure hunt, a shark attack data-based lesson, and the Thundercat Speedboat Dolphin Watch Ride business project.

Ms. Rosselet is Vice President for Education at New Jersey Audubon and has 40 years’ experience teaching and conducting teacher professional development in both formal and non-formal situations. She is Chair of the New Jersey Commission for Environmental Education and past President of the Alliance for New Jersey Environmental Education. Ms. Rosselet has co-authored several ecology-based curriculum guides for teachers including Bridges to the Natural World and NJ WATERS: A Watershed Approach to Teaching the Ecology of Regional Systems. She has a BA in Environmental Studies from Ramapo College of New Jersey and a MA in Environmental Education from Rowan University.

While the basics are pretty simple to implement, proper eating and nutrition really is a science (food science!) In this session we’ll be breaking it down to the basics, explaining how nutrients impact your health, and clearing up the confusion around media and marketing. We'll break down the basics of nutrition and healthy eating. set the records straight on carbs, fat, protein and how they impact your overall health and wellness, debunk the media myths and marketing confusion around what is actually healthy, and show you how to make healthy “swapportunities” to maximize your nutrient intake on a daily basis.
