RAC 2025 aims to deliberate on the emerging trends and transformative developments in chemical sciences, while providing a dynamic platform for meaningful dialogue on collaborative and interdisciplinary research in frontier areas of the field. The conference is expected to draw active participation from both academia and industry across the nation. By fostering the exchange of ideas and recent innovations, RAC 2025 aspires to enrich scientific knowledge and inspire young researchers to pursue novel and impactful research in the challenging and evolving landscape of chemical sciences.
Sohra, also known as Cherrapunji and often referred to as the "Scotland of the East," is a unique destination nestled in the East Khasi Hills of Meghalaya. Renowned for its dramatic landscapes, pleasant weather, and rich cultural heritage, Sohra is famous for receiving some of the highest levels of rainfall in the world. It is home to several of nature’s most striking wonders, including the iconic living root bridges, crystal-clear Dawki Lake, Nohkalikai Falls, Seven Sisters Falls, and expansive limestone caves. In October, the weather remains cool and comfortable, making it an ideal time to explore its lush green hills, majestic waterfalls, and traditional Khasi villages. Far removed from the noise of urban life, Sohra offers a rare opportunity to experience unspoiled nature and local traditions in a serene and scenic setting.
The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Meghalaya is one among the thirty one NITs in India established under the NIT Act 2007 (Amended 2012) of the Parliament of India as Institutes of National Importance with full funding support from the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. NIT Meghalaya took birth in 2010 and started functioning from its temporary campus in Shillong since 2012. NIT Meghalaya has secured 16th position among the thirty one NITs across the country, according to NIRF 2017, MHRD. The institute recently moved to its permanent campus at Sohra (Cherrapunjee). The campus comes up with state-of-the-art infrastructures and all the necessary modern amenities while maintaining harmony with the serene environment of Sohra. The aim is to build it to be the centre of excellence in education and research in the fields of engineering, science and technology. The vision is to develop it to be an institution vibrant with academic activities and bubbling with youthful creative energy. The challenge is to overcome the apparent deficiencies due to its location and turn them into advantages.
The Institute’s efforts since the starting of its functioning in Shillong have been to set-up the best facilities within the limited available space. Being in a nascent stage the Institute needs lots of support and care from all
quarters to bring it up.
