Dr.Harikumar M completed his PhD in Geotechnical Engineering from National Institute of Technology Calicut in 2017, Masters in Environmental Geotechnology from NIT Calicut in 2012 (Gold medalist) and B.Tech (2008) from College of Engineering Trivandrum, Kerala. He presently serves as the Head of the Department of Civil Engineering at the National Institute of Technology Goa.

His expertise is primarily related to model foundation tests on soil, characterization and usage of unconventional soil reinforcements, hybrid geosynthetics for soil slopes and the application of neural networks in Geotechnical Engineering.

Dr. Harikumar M has over 11 years of experience in academia and industry. Prior to joining NIT Goa, he has been serving as a faculty in Government aided College of Engineering, under the Ministry of Co-operation, Govt. of Kerala. He has also served as execution planning engineer for 2 years at Larsen and Toubro limited, Mumbai, in the Hydrocarbon Construction and Pipelines Division where he worked at a Methanol Revamp Plant, Primary Reformer project for Rashtriya Chemicals and Fertilizers Limited, and a Lube Oil based stock-Quality Upgradation Project for HPCL.
