SERB-AV 'Vritika' Research Internship-2021

Duration : 6-7 weeks i.e., starting from 11th October to 25th November 2021.

Objective

This program aims to provide opportunities to promising PG students from universities, Colleges, Private Academic Institutions, and newly established Institutes to get exposure and hands-on research skill development experience free of cost.

Eligibility

Students who are in First Year (or third semester) of M.Tech./ME or PhD (in their early stage of research), having first class in the BTech/BE or MTech/ME (for PhD students) are eligible to apply. Background in ANSYS Fluent or/and OpenFOAM is desirable. Note: NIT Calicut students are not eligible to apply under this scheme.

How to Apply

Interested students should apply through their Head of the Department/Institute, in the prescribed format, within the stipulated time. The prescribed application form should be sent by email to sumer@nitc.ac.in attaching a scanned copy of the signed & attested application with all the documents required on or before 7 October 2021, 5 PM. The Application form shall be accompanied by self-attested copies of the relevant documents and a No Objection Certificate/Testimonial obtained from the Head of the Department/Institute of the parent institution.

Selection Process

Selection of interns will be done by the concerned Department event organizer: 1. Academic performance in university examinations (CGPA / percentage of marks). 2. Paper presented at conferences/ workshops, projects already executed/completed, academic/co-curricular contests participated and other awards/distinctions obtained. Note: A List of selected candidates may be published on the Institute website (or may be intimated through email) one day before the commencement of the internship program

Expectations and rewards

a. All the interns shall strictly follow the rules and regulations of the NIT Calicut. The “Students’ Conduct and Disciplinary Code” (available at http://www.nitc.ac.in/app/webroot/img/upload/Students_code_9th_Oct o_07.pdf) of the Institute will be applicable to the interns as well. Any violation will lead to immediate termination of the internship and the matter will be reported to the parent institution. In addition to this, appropriate action will be taken against the intern as decided by the Director, NIT Calicut.

b. You will be assigned specific tasks/assignments, on which, the intern should work and prepare a report to be submitted.

c. Upon completion of the Internship program, the student has to submit a report of the work done by him/her which includes the following: Introduction, Motivation and Objectives, Literature Survey, Problem Definition, Methodology/Design, Implementation/algorithm, results and discussions, and conclusions.

d. A certificate regarding successful completion of internship will be issued to the intern upon satisfactory completion of the internship and submission of the report.
