Self-sponsored online SHORT TERM TRAINING PROGRAMME on
MODERN COMPUTATIONAL FLUID DYNAMICS (CFD) WITH INDUSTRIAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL APPLICATIONS
February 1, 2021 – February 5, 2021
ABOUT THE COURSE
Computational Fluid Dynamics has become one of the most important tools for solving the industrial and environmental problems. After around fifty years of CFD, there is a large body of literature evolved into something which we can proclaim as modern. Consequently, the prime aims and objectives of this short term training program is to provide training on the modern aspects of CFD. The proposed Short Term Training Programme (STTP) aims at introducing not only Finite Volume Method and various high-end applications from the industry and the environment but also the machine learning in fluid mechanics and heat transfer.
COURSE CONTENTS
Introduction to CFD with historical perspective
Finite Volume Method and Turbulence Modelling
CFD applications to radiation modelling in solar energy/rocket propulsion/combustion, supersonic flows, atmospheric dispersion, particulate flows/aerosol, open channel hydraulics, ground water flows and contaminant transport, surface water flows and tsunami modelling, Reduced order modelling in Fluid mechanics, Physics informed neural network, machine learning, digital twin and artificial neural network (ANN) in fluid mechanics and heat transfer, Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics and magnetorheological finishing process.
Discussions on SU2 (The Open-Source CFD Code).
Hands-on session on CFD Softwares ANSWER, PORFLOW, and TIDAL
