International Conference on Applied Probability, Statistics and Stochastic Processes (ICAPSSP) 2025 presents a remarkable opportunity for researchers, academicians, and practitioners to convene and explore the latest developments in probability, statistics  and stochastic processes particularly in their practical applications. National Institute of Technology Calicut, India

The National Institute of Technology Calicut (NITC), one of 31 institutions of national importance under the National Institute of Technology Act, 2007, is fully funded by the Government of India. Established in 1961 as a Regional Engineering College (REC), it was rebranded as NIT Calicut in 2002, expanding its focus to include research in various branches of Engineering, Science, Technology, and Management. NITC offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs in these fields, fostering academic excellence through innovative research and proactive collaborations with institutions and industries.

Nestled at the foothills of the Western Ghats, NITC spans over 120 hectares, about 22 kilometers from Calicut (Kozhikode) in Kerala. The scenic campus is fully residential, housing academic buildings, hostels, research labs, and amenities, creating a holistic environment for its 6,500-strong student body. With 11 undergraduate and 29 postgraduate programs, including an MBA, NITC has seen significant growth in research, particularly in the production of research papers and patents. Despite challenges such as limited industrial support and resource constraints, NITC continues to produce highly employable graduates and valuable research outcomes.

The transformation of RECs into NITs was driven by a need to embrace changes in technology, education, and societal needs. The NIT Act reinforced the mandate of these institutions to provide equitable access to high-quality technical education, while also intensifying their focus on research. NIT Calicut has played a pivotal role in regional development, aligning its activities with the growth of Malabar, a region historically known for spice trade and characterized by a balanced, eco-friendly development model.

NITC’s journey towards excellence is supported by the Government of India, the Ministry of Education, the Kerala State Government, industries, and alumni. Department of Mathematics

The Department of Mathematics at the National Institute of Technology Calicut (NITC) is one of the institute’s oldest and most distinguished departments. It plays a vital role in supporting the academic journey of B. Tech and B. Arch students, while also offering advanced programs leading to Master’s Degrees and Ph.D. qualifications. The department is dedicated to promoting both academic and professional development through a variety of initiatives, including faculty development programs aimed at working professionals, academic faculty, and students.
