About the Department:
The Department of CSE at NIT Calicut, established in 1997, is a pioneer in computing education and research in India. Apart from its renowned undergraduate program which started in 1985, the department has 3 postgraduate programs and a doctoral program. With over 1000 students, 48 expert faculty, the department fosters a vibrant academic and research environment. It emphasizes innovation in fields such as AI, cybersecurity, IoT, and software systems without compromising on its focus on abstraction and design.
About the FDP:
In an era driven by technological innovation, the need for specialized processors in AI, ML, IoT, and edge computing has grown exponentially. These systems demand highly efficient, scalable, and performance-optimized architectures to meet modern challenges. Forging Research Advancements through Microarchitecture Design Evaluation Tools aims to equip researchers with state-of-the-art skills to design domain-specific processors faster and more effectively. By integrating practical tools with advanced methodologies, this program enables participants to pioneer breakthroughs in specialized computing, from autonomous systems to smart devices.
This program aims to empower educators with state-of-the-art expertise in Computer Architecture, utilizing Xilinx Evaluation Boards to bridge theory and practice. Participants shall explore instruction set architecture, microarchitecture, and their applications in designing advanced computing systems.
